Practice Makes Perfect

Learning to be a good driver takes practice. There can be new challenges around every bend, and knowing how to respond takes the experience of many miles. Our Young Driver Safety program gives young, inexperienced drivers the chance to build skill and confidence behind the wheel.

Safe Young Driver Discount

Young drivers (age 25 or under) who complete our Young Driver Safety program and meet just a few other basic eligibility requirements can qualify to receive the Safe Young Driver discount. It's a discount that’ll not only save them money, but also help make them better drivers.

The Young Driver Safety action plan:

  • Discuss the program guidelines and expectations with your agent
  • Watch an approved driving safety video
  • Log 30 hours of supervised driving
  • Make a commitment to safety with our safe driver pledge

In addition to completing Farm Bureau’s Young Driver Safety Program, young drivers must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the Safe Young Driver discount:

  • Be age 25 or younger
  • Have a valid driver’s license or permit
  • Be a rated driver on at least one vehicle insured on a Farm Bureau Member’s Choice policy
  • Meet certain standards based on personal driving record and claims within the past three years
